JULIE MATTHEWS has worked successfully as a character actress, on-camera talent, vocalist, agent, casting director, talent scout, producer, television director, acting coach, publicist and writer. Julie's latest film project, the feature film documentary, EGGSHELLAND, which she co-produced, has earned numerous awards at film festivals nationally and internationally.  Her latest writing effort is the film screenplay, SOUPERNATURAL and THE CONtest, which she is also co-producing and casting.

 

Her motion pictures casting credits include "Babe Ruth", "Hoffa", "Public Eye", "Dead and Alive", "A Christmas Story", "Major League", "The Light of Day" and "Bob Roberts", "The Year That Trembled", "Killing Ruth", and currently, "Soupernatural" and "The CONtest", both in development. Her on screen film credits include: "A Christmas Story", "Major League", "The Light of Day", and "Bob Roberts". Her commercial casting credits include Ford Motor Company, and Target.  Julie produced and hosted the local television show "Cleveland Rocks" for 6 seasons.  

 

In New York City, Julie studied acting under the famed Actors Studio. She also studied at HB Studio with the late Sandy Dennis, Charles Nelson Reily, Hal Holden and Ute Hagan.

 

As founder and director of the American Performing Arts Network, Julie developed the critically acclaimed workshop, "How To Get Into Show Business The Right Way", which was featured on numerous national and local television talk shows and newscasts, on radio and in newspapers including 60 Minutes, Sally Jesse Raphael, USA Today, New York Times, and WLUP Chicago with Danny Bonaduce. Julie was the focus of a featured segment on 60 MINUTES with The Donna Reed Show's PAUL PETERSEN, recognizing her talent and ability to coach actors and direct screen tests.

  

Julie started her singing career as the youngest member to ever be admitted into the Singing Angels. She was a vocalist for four years with the popular harmonizing quartet, Tuxedo Junction. She currently works as a studio vocalist recording back up harmonies for several recording artists. Julie currently sings with the popular 60's girl group, THE POPTARTS, who recently composed and recorded an original Christmas album. Two songs from their new record, (one sung by Julie), are currently featured in the LIFETIME movie, Love At The Christmas Table.
